Xgl installed

I posted something about Xgl and the screencast which is bad ace by the way.  Today after 3 tries and some great instructions from the ubuntu forums I finally have Xgl installed on my Ubuntu machine at work.  I must say when you expeirence Xgl at first its really pretty amazing.  Like all the documentation I have read Xgl is extremely flaky and is still in the earliest of develpment.  Although it works pretty well I found that sometimes I would lose the outline around the window or I would lose my minimize, and x buttons on a window.  For the most part though I have been able to duplicate almost everything seen in the screencast.  Xgl is doesn't really add functionality except for the live thumbnails in the task switcher everything else is just for show but very cool to show indeed.

Here are a few problems I had the first online help I found was a good one however it didn't work as expected.  The second, was going great until I realized I wasn't using an ATI video card and had look around again.  Finally, I came to the mentioned earlier.  I still had problems like the Xgl working for around about 10 mins then crashing and I would have to log out and back in to make it work again.  Other than that its pretty cool.

Its a pretty cool experience definatley something different and very Macish.
