Eyes opened to XGL

A friend of mind bofe showed me a really cool link to a video screen cast about XGL, which is a xml based X server currently for SUSE Linux that is freakin cool.  Its kinda like a Mac meets hardcore porn stuff.  Its wickedly awesome.  Really that is all I can say about.  When I watched it the guy moving into new work spaces by moving a cube around on the screen or the Translucent movie moved into a workspace sitting on the side of the cube.  It isn't about being functional although their were somethings that were it was about being wicked cool and powerful and that is exactly what was going on.  The whole idea was to make something pretty kick butt to make people come over.

I think XGL should be the desktop on some Linux distros when it gets finished because to me that is how you attract users from Windows give them something more efficiently.  I haven't looked at the hardware requirements to run XGL but I do know that Vista is a hoss cat and as long as XGL stay smaller than that I think it would kick serious butt.
