Once again, I am on a Portable App kick. I use portable apps on my thumb drive everyday which are very awesome and easy to use; however, I am also using more and more apps that are on teh web which are truly portable since they can be anywhere in the world when I need them. These are probably some of the best applications not because they are on the web but because they make my life easier. A few of these are:

PortalbXampp -- Apache, MySql, PHP, and PHP my admin all from a thumb drive
7-Zip -- File Compression and multiple format handling
Audacity -- Audio Recording
MWSnap -- Screen Capture utility
PortableOpera -- Opera web browser
PSPAd -- syntax highlighting text editor
Pstart -- locates executibles and allows easy access
Uniform Server -- WAMP server on a stick awesome
Virtual Cdrom -- utility that mounts iso cd images and dvd images in my computer for easy access and great for administration and movie backup
Micro20 -- Iso maker and burner burns CD and DVD
FoxitREader -- Pdf reader
mplayerrc -- great for watching different formats quickly
putty -- SSh client
SIW -- system information inventory executible
Vim -- command line text editor
I am currently working with most of these programs and web apps on a daily basis and I am very much more productive because of them. This post will be followed up with indivuidual post of each program and web app detailing what each program does and how the programs have been working for me.
